Lake Arrowhead Village - 12 Experiences the Whole Family Will Love

Looking for a mountain getaway the whole family will love? Bring the kids, bring Grandma and Grandpa, and plan a day at Lake Arrowhead Village!

One of the things we love most about Lake Arrowhead is that there really is something here for everyone. And if you’re staying at Pine Rose Cabins, Lake Arrowhead Village is the perfect place to spend a few hours—or an entire afternoon.

Set on a beautiful peninsula that reaches out into the middle of Lake Arrowhead, the Village is the heart of the mountain community. There are shops, restaurants, treats, lake views and plenty of things that will make the kids say, “Can we go in there?”

And honestly, Grandparets will probably want to go in too!

Feeding Ducks at Lake Arrowhead.jpeg

🦆 Start With the Ducks

One of the simplest—and most loved—activities at the Village is feeding the ducks.

Grab a bag of duck food for just a dollar and head along the lakefront. Kids can feed the ducks while adults enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch the boats go by.

It’s one of those old-fashioned little pleasures that never seems to get old. Kids love it. Grandparents love it. And parents get a chance to slow down and enjoy the view.

🍕 Pizza + Arcade = Happy Kids

Need a break for lunch?

Head up toward the clock tower to Lake Arrowhead Pizza Deli. It’s a very family-friendly spot with an arcade in the back and beautiful views of the lake.

So while the kids play, Mom, Dad and the grandparents can sit back and relax.

Just remember to bring some quarters for the arcade!

Village Ice Cream and Sweets Shop.jpeg

🍦 Don’t Skip the Ice Cream

A mountain day isn’t complete without a sweet treat.

The Village has several places to satisfy that craving, including the Village Ice Cream and Sweets Shop on the upper level. On a warm summer afternoon, grabbing an ice cream and sitting outside while watching the boats on the lake is pretty hard to beat.

And if you’re really lucky, the kids might even share.

Big on Bears.jpeg

🐻 Shop for Something You’ll Remember

One of our favorite things about the Village is that the stores aren’t just ordinary souvenir shops.

Big on Bears is absolutely darling. If you love bears, you’re going to love this place. Think bear pajamas, matching family pajamas, slippers, hats, stickers and all kinds of adorable bear-themed goodies.

It’s the kind of store where the adults might find something for the kids—and then walk out with something for themselves!

RocketFizz2.jpeg

🍬 Step Back in Time at Rocket Fizz

Then there’s Rocket Fizz, a candy and soda shop that feels like a trip back to the 1950s and ’60s.

With an incredible selection of old-fashioned candies and more than 150 varieties of soda, it’s practically impossible to walk in without finding something you’ve never tried before.

Let the kids each pick one thing—and then let the adult choose something they remember from when they were young.

That’s where the fun really begins!

🧸 Because Who Doesn’t Love a Toy Store?

There’s also a classic toy store filled with the kind of toys that make kids want to stay forever.

And let’s be honest…

Who doesn’t love walking into a toy store?

🍎 Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

Of course, you can’t visit the Village without stopping for something chocolatey.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is especially known up here for its candy apples. When was the last time you had a real candy apple?

Jurassic Fossil.jpeg

🦖 Dinosaurs, Fossils & Crystals

Down in the lower Village, Jurassic Fossils is a must-stop for kids who love dinosaurs, rocks and anything prehistoric.

Don’t forget to take a picture with the dinosaur outside!

And here’s the really fun part: you can buy rocks that you actually crack open to discover crystals inside. For just a couple of dollars, kids get their own little treasure hunt to take home.

Arrowhead Sporting Goods.jpeg

🎣 Have a Fisherman in the Family?

Don’t miss Arrowhead Sporting Goods.

Even if you aren’t shopping for fishing gear, it’s worth stepping inside just to see the way this store is decorated. Trees grow right through the store, giving it that wonderful mountain feel.

And if you have a fisherman in the family, you may have a hard time getting him back out!

Tattle Tails.jpeg

👕 Grandma Approved!

And then there’s Tattle Tails & Sondra's, one of those shops Grandma will love.

You’ll find beautiful clothing for women along with darling children’s clothes, stuffed animals, fun backpacks and Lake Arrowhead T-shirts that make great souvenirs.

Because sometimes the best souvenir isn’t something you put on a shelf—it’s something you actually wear.

Arrowhead Queen.jpeg

🚢 Take a ride on the Arrowhead Queen

Enjoy a royal treat and take a trip on the Arrowhead Queen. This 90 minute ride takes you across the lake and provides entertainment and narration for the whole family.

Tickets can be purchased at LeRoy's Board shop across the walkway

🧚 Don’t Miss This Hidden Little Gem

And here’s one you might easily miss—but don’t!

Tucked downstairs on the west side of the Village, you’ll find The Studio Boutique. It’s a darling little shop that feels like you’ve discovered a secret treasure.

For little girls, it’s a dream come true, filled with fairies, ballerinas and colorful treasures that will have them wanting to look at

So when you’re exploring the Village, make sure you head downstairs and look for this hidden gem. It’s easy to miss—and too cute to skip!
